Fortnightly Update (17/06/2021) – Ray White Cairns Beaches

By Ben - MahiWeb
Welcome to this fortnight’s Newsletter from the tropical city of Cairns where (unseasonably) daytime temperatures are hitting 30 degrees celsius!
Conversely, our thoughts go out to our many friends and family members in Victoria who have encountered severe storms, flooding, and long power outages – all whilst enduring some very cold temperatures and conditions!
As I write this dialogue the tortured bodies of athletes who competed in Cairns Ironman are returning to ‘normal’, following a day of combat – not just against other competitors, but weather conditions of unexpected wind and rain on the day. Congratulations to all competitors and especially winners across the varying individual and team categories!
Within this edition we will provide information on the following:
– Cairns Waterfront and Water View Property Auction
– Regional Rental Crisis Continues
– Cairns Beaches Sales Activity
– Simple Tax Saving Tips For Landlords

Cairns Waterfront and Water View Property Auction!

The date is set – Sunday July 25th is the date for this themed event where properties with water, canal, lagoon, or lake frontages, plus those with a water view will be offered to the throng of increased buyer numbers – particularly from Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia.
Property owners that have property which fits into one of the above categories – if you would like to sell in the strongest market Cairns has experienced in over 30 years, please call me on 0418 774 353 or one of the sales team members to discuss the program!

Regional Rental Crisis Continues

My colleague, Principal of Ray White Whitsunday wrote in his newsletter last week of rising rents, rental property shortages, lessened numbers of investment buyers, and abuse to staff members who are dealing with this rental shortage crisis across Regional Queensland.
As more interstate and expat buyers purchase property in Queensland for either full time or part time occupation, less housing is available to residents in the varying popular localities. It is certainly time for removed taxation incentives for regional investment property owners to be both re-introduced and further incentivised.
The regional rental shortage is a statewide crisis which demands immediate action. Private investors are urgently required to invest in housing!
