Fortnightly Update – (08/04/21) – Ray White Cairns Beaches

Hello Readers,

Paul Stirling with you once again from a much busier Cairns! From last weekend the sky above us hosted the most flights into Cairns for over a year, providing income to the hotels and accommodation houses both in Cairns and Port Douglas! Naturally, it followed that the varying tour and reef charter operators enjoyed an surge in bookings, as did restaurants and food outlets.

The better news is that many of the accommodation venues are also now holding very strong bookings through till almost the end of 2021. After “battening down the hatches” last year and early 2021, the investor owners of the many strata-title units that service the tourist trade will be revelling in the knowledge of the current and future booking numbers. Very soon Cairns will also be hosting travellers from New Zealand via the Trans-Tasman bubble!


H.M.A.S Adelaide visits!

Last week the Australian Navy’s largest ship, the H.M.A.S Adelaide, visited Cairns after being deployed at sea for many months. The ships complement of personnel enjoyed well earned shore leave and booked multiple tours plus filled many of the restaurants. The ship was also refuelled and restocked whilst in Port – another cash injection to the local economy.
